The TORAIZ AS-1, the second musical instrument in the TORAIZ family, was created by Pioneer in partnership with Dave Smith Instruments for use in music creation and live performances. It opens up a whole new world of creative possibilities for the recording studio or stage.
The AS-1 synthesiser is controlled by a completely programmable, real analogue engine that is based on the discrete analogue circuitry of the Dave Smith Instruments Prophet-6 synthesiser. Pioneer has created a synthesiser that generates potent analogue sounds and is the perfect addition to the setups of experienced and aspiring producers and DJs after carefully working with the icon Dave Smith himself.
The new synthesizer's user interface and performance capabilities were greatly impacted by Pioneer's expertise in producing DJ and production gear. The user-friendly controls feature parameter knobs that let you alter the music's tone both subtly and dramatically to create your own unique sound. It is incredibly simple to use the seven on-board effects, which come from the Prophet-6 synth with the addition of a brand-new digital distortion, and the touchpad-style keyboard and slider allow you to alter sounds live performances.
The TORAIZ AS-1 synthesiser and TORAIZ SP-16 live sampler may be connected by MIDI, and the sampler's sophisticated sequencer combines the colourful and potent analogue sounds you have generated within the synthesiser to create even more elaborate patterns. Through Pro DJ Link and MIDI, the two instruments can be linked to your DJM mixer to create a special setup where the CDJs play the music. The TORAIZ AS-1 Synth plays original analogue leads in time with the BPM of the music, while the TORAIZ SP-16 Sampler adds loops and one-shots.
